Mod log: x2 8800GTS 320MB - Page 2

GPU and MEM mods down to both cards. Wasn't sure what size VR I want to use for the MEM so I used a fan header instead of a switch. This way I can just plug VRs into it. Using a 10K VR for now, but thinking about picking up a couple 20K's.

Card #1 is stuggling in the OC department. The shaders seems really weak, the core barely does 700Mhz. vDroop is pretty bad at ~.06v. Hoping some caps will help this card some. The Hynix memory performed as expected. Slightly over 1Ghz with 1.86v.

Card 2 is OCing a little bit better then card 1. The Samsung memory isn't scaling like I was hoping they would.

During SLi, the limited core clocks on card 1 really cut down the core clocks during SLi. Though, the shaders preformed quite well scaling higher then either card did running single.

Next up, caps mods and maybe some memory timing adjustments if Nibitor will let me.

Well so far so good. Keep it up. In the worst case i can send the other 8800GTS card if caps cant help card 1.

Pictures turned out bad tonight.

Got both the cards cap'd. Did nothing for OC or vdroop, but now there is no OCP. The GPUs where tripping OCP ~1.45v. Now I can tune them up to 1.7v without tripping to 0.00v. Now to lower the temps...

Nice work as always Pizza smile.gif
Are those input caps at the left part of the card, I can't tell it from the pic clearly?

I've got 2 of those cards, too. Same as here, 1x A2 and 1x A3.
1.25V for 729MHz is very nice, push them more. My cards are running at 1.41-1.55V with air cooling biggrin.gif

The four smallest ones to the left are16v input. yessir.gif

There where three more on the card, but they ended up being connected to the mosfets and blow off the card when I first fired it up. redface.gif

Finally got my temps lowered a little bit. Hit my goal of 23k. Now time for 24k...

Next step is removing the full cover blocks and putting my universal blocks on. Not pleased with the temps of the full cover blocks.

24K or a GPU will die try'n
