Honestly... for a monitor that small, your rig could go for a 5750 at tops and max out those games. You're CPU's aging a little but should still last you a little while.
oh man this little beast has been through hell and back, E5200 FTW!!

The reason you get poopy FPS in GTA IV is because of your dual core. The game is a CPU whore, quad core atleast.

Pretty much this. GTA IV loves four cores.

i was thinking the same thing, even tho my E52 is at 4 0 it still reaches 100%. I would get a quad but for some odd reason a Q9550 is more expensive than a quad core i7.

Yeah it doesnt matter how high the Dual core is, just wants 4 cores or more. Also its because there older and not many for sale now, so they charge more for people that need one. I know its disgusting.

Just get the cheaper one. Chances are when it's not good enough for the low resolutions anymore you will probably of already upgraded.

Like the others have said, you do not need much GPU for that. A 5750 should do fine.

For GTAIV i would recommend a quad though.

And, I'm sorry to hear that about your eyes. Mine are pretty bad, but they are correctable with glasses, but i know how frustrating not seeing can be.

Don't insult the 4850, lol. He could use a freaking 8600gt and be fine at 800x600 -.-

800x600? And people get on me for playing at 1360x768. FYI I use a 32" LCD HDTV so I don't have a hard time seeing however.
