I am going to build a Bulldozer rig regardless. I want to have AMD hardware to play with too. I was (and still am a little) an AMD fanboi. I have my old AMD dual core system at the office and use it all day, runs like a champ and is plenty fast for what we need the PC's for.

I have not put in the reading for Bulldozer that I have for Sandy Bridge, but there's only so many hours in the day.

TG, yeah ... it just depends if you do benchmarking or not ... i really don't ... and although i like to overclock and do some benching ...

I believe the X6 Phenom's are really good for example. The reason i did not buy a Phenom, was not because of the cpu itself, but of the motherboard... or... to be more specific, not having good motherboards on the market


I would love to have lots of money and no responsibility to do like some guys i know that spend, 3k only in watercooling ...

but... i can't do that so i'm trying to save some money for the next bulldozer ...

I am not talking about the same numbers you are. Run LinX 20 passes and post your results, then we can get on the same subject.

I do not put a lot of stock in CPU-Z validation. (not any really) I can get a validation in CPU-z over 4600 MHz.. now ask me if that "valid" overclock will pull 200 LinX passes or run Prime95 for 24 hours without crashing, BSOD or freezing.
