I was going to buy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227550

People read and don't have a real answer for you, like mine:

I don't believe in SSD, I like Raid 0 on my F3's

It's either vertex 2 or Crucial C300.

C300 = ultra fast speed both sequentially and 4k, but slower writes.

vertex 2 = not as fast but much better write speeds.

For a boot drive ONLY I would do C300

Bought the vertex 2. I won't need the absolute fastest, I just want a quicker drive than my F3.

Corsair force / Vertex 2 / Agility 2 whatever is cheaper. Same Sandforce and pretty much all identical. The Vertex 2 takes a bit of a performance hit vs the Vertex 2 but it is purely e-peen and you should not notice much.

The Real SSD C300 only really beats them in Seq. reads and that is mostly due to using SATA 6Gps.

Edit: After a refresher , Agility 2 is quite a bit slower than Vertex 2 in some tests (mostly just 4K r/w performance though), though if coming from HDD and price is quite a bit cheaper than the others, will still make a nice upgrade.

Some performance charts here:

Pretty sure the Vertex 2 beats the Agility 2 because of the "up to 50,000 IOPS" thing...

Yeah there are many tests that you can base performance off of. OP is merely looking for confirmation for his choice. Actually I came back here to update my Sandforce 1222 list as here:

* A-DATA S599 Series
* Corsair Force Series
* Mushkin Callisto Series
* OCZ Agility 2 Series
* OCZ Vertex 2 Series
* OWC Mercury
* Patriot Inferno Series

OP should be happy with any of those drives on this list. If you want the best then you can skim through the reviews to see which is the best for your needs. Main reason for recommending many is so that OP can find the cheapest one. If the best was wanted a 40GB /64GB would not have been selected in the first place as they generally tend to have throttled performance so that they can be part of the value line.

I don't get what you want if you already bought the ssd.
