Air Cooling Upgrade for Core i7 975

Thread Starter
Well, title says it all. Currently, I am looking into upgrading from the stock(shudder I know) fan/heatsink on my 975. I was hoping OCN could give me some comparisons or opinions on the following setups:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-233-029-04%23

I run a HAF 932 with normal profile Corsair dimms on a Intel DX58S0(yes, shudder as well) mobo so fit shouldn't be an issue. Although I am a little wary of cooling setups running over 1kg, which takes something like the Noctua DH14 out of the running. Also I intend to run a push pull.

Finally, if it makes any difference, I am leaning away from the Megahalems for weight and price reasons. The Cooler Master v6 just entered my radar so solid info on that would be fantastic as well.

Thanks ahead of time.

Edit: also - opinions on good fans and thermal compound? Probably not interested in Scythe products I seem to hear they dont have a long shelf life, and reliability is important to me.

Edit: Ugh, was trying not to make this a wall of text, but I intend to oc to around 3.8ghz without fan noise driving me nuts.

I think your best bet is the Megahelms, the only heatsink better is the NH d14 which is probably too big for your setup.

Archon with a second TY-140. While I like my Megatron and my D14, the Silver Arrow is a tad better than the D14, and the Archon is better still. And even with two fans, it is quieter than the D14.
