Buying a laptop

Okay guys im looking at getting a dell inspiron either the the 15r or the 17. Trying not to go over $800. needs to get me a diesel pickumup truck. If i get the 15r looking at getting it with 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, ati550v dedicated card, and the i5 460m. its around $750 from dell. or I can get the 17r exactly the same but stepped down to the i3 370m, for $700. So basically what im trying to decide how much of a difference is there between the i5 and the i3? is it substantial difference? i mean this laptop will be for everyday use and would like to play some games if need be, and if i have a ton of interenet tabs open i dont want it to bog down at all on, what do you guys suggest.

If you plan on carrying it around a lot, go with the 15R. After a while, carrying a 17" laptop gets old.

I agree. I carried around a 17" Asus G73jh for a few days in college and it honestly started to hurt my back. I switched to a 13" MacBook and it was a much better experience. 15" seems to a good place to be for portability but still having a pretty big screen.

I have a 17" Compaq. I just ordered an Alienware m11x to lighten my load.
