Patriot Viper II 12 GB (3 X 4 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 1600 MHz 9-9-9-24 ??

I bought my self some and im not to familiar with PATRIOT but I know 12gb @ 1600MHz is dayum good so I thought Id ask the community so I know im choosing the right ram. i have 15days to take it back

Yeah, you've got lots of RAM but not necessarily the greatest performance because your 3 sticks are not running in triple channel... not even dual channel... but are in fact being forced into single channel! Perhaps a better choice would've been getting 2x4GB, 4x4GB or 2x4GB + 2x2GB. If you can take it back, you should. There is a very big, noticeable difference between single channel and dual channel.

You would notice a very slight increase for gaming load times/fps.
For video encoding you would notice a much larger difference.

(AMD systems prefer 2 sticks in dual channel)

Load times (application, Windows boot) would be even more noticeable in difference with one more stick. One more 4GB DIMM capable of 1600 9-9-9 at the rated voltage will be good enough, though I usually recmomend matching DIMMs; you may want to return that set altogether and just purchase two 2x4GB sets from maybe a more prestiguous company (i.e. G.Skill or Mushkin). AMD prefers 2 sticks in dual channel; AMD does NOT support triple channel.
