the idle temp is definitely high, but load is very reasonable.

i would suggest that you re-grease the processor and put a better fan on the heatsink. That should help temps some

It will vary based on your rooms temperature, but overall long as you keep it below 60C at load it ought to last a long life. 70 or so is okay, but imo it shortens the processors lifespan slightly.

I just recently overclocked my Phenom II X3 720 BE AM3 from 2.8 GHz to 3.2 (man it feels good being able to say that) I am new to OC so I was wondering if a max core temp of around 62C while a single core temp max was 68c was safe? At 100% load of corse. It is just the stock fan and heatsink that came with the CPU. Sites say 55-73 is operating temp but people keep telling me its too dangerous that high.

Any thoughts? And yes I am upgrading heatsink and fan asap, as well as the Cooler Master Haf X Nvidia Edition that will arrive tomorrow. Should cool better than my mid Xion case. Thank you.

Just a quick update. New case and a little cleaning of the heatsink and fan which were filthy, and temp on full load is now 50C. Will post new temp with cooler master gt v6 as soon as i install it.
