Million Dream Build (Sandy Bridge Build) - Page 3

Sounds good! Great mobo! Good choice on the HD6950 I think! Hopefully you manage to unlock it without too much difficulty!
Only thing I might see about now is the RAM, maybe a 1600MHz kit?

Did you mean 2 x 4gb? Thats the way to go. I would recommend not getting anything slower then this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231314

Not high end by any means but 1333 is pretty much bottom of the line.

1600MHz over CL7?
They have a huge gap in price between the CL9 and 8 but a really smaller on between 8 et 7 (in that series, i mean the G.skill ripjaws 2x4Gb)

Did someone know one much the Asus Maximus IV will cost? If it is like 250$, I will be able to take the 2x4Gb CL7 model

That G.Skill RAM might look quite good on the ASUS Maximus IV too! Don't forget you did tell us you would be using this rig for mainly overclocking/gaming so even if you get RAM with slightly slower timings than you wanted, you might be able to have a play with them.

On the other hand DDR3 prices are pretty low at the moment and I think are expected to go back up in the future... so maybe you should get whatever RAM you realy want now and just keep it until you, eventually, need to upgrade to DDR4!

Also I've never had an experience with G.Skill customer support so I couldn't comment on how easy it would be to RMA if a stick died... Probably unlikely to happen... but **** happens!

Finally, I don't know if the code works on Newegg.ca but they're having a sale on RAM with code DKMEM15 (15% off)

Edit: Also, I think the Maximus IV will probably be closer to 300 dollars. Unfortunately for me, somehow it will probably also be about £300...

Ah... yeah, but I didn't recive my parents Christmas Card so I will maybe have little more money

I will try to get that but if I can't, Do you think the Asus P8P67 Deluxe/Evo/Pro/Le (don't really know the diffrence between each)

I know for the sale on the RAM but I will buy all at the same time (long story about that) so i don't know if it will still be here in 2 week.

What case will you be putting your build in? Will it have USB 3.0 Front Panel?
I think that Asus P8P67 Deluxe should be within budget (I think) and it is certainly a good mobo. And it comes with that 3.5" USB 3.0 bay thingy, which, since it has a front panel USB 3.0 connector is awesome! The Pro version would probably be fine though if you want to save a bit more cash on the mobo.
I'd also consider the Gigabyte UD4 and UD5 boards.
Maximus IV definitely 1st choice if possible though. If only for how awesome they always look!

Nah, i will build a tech bench and maybe a Lian Li Lancool PC-K62 if I have money for it but I think i will take a SSD before a case

Not the response I expected lol! Probably should have on this site! I agree that an SSD should be next. Then Ivy Bridge.... Then a GPU... Lets be honest the list never ends... you'll never have a case lol! /jk

I will buy a sheet of MDF or in plexiglass (I have some at home but I think it is to thin. But, like this summer, when I will work, I will maybe bought a Lian Li K62 or something like that, mount the Rad at the rear (because a 360 don't fit i think).

Nah, I will not start to change part, only had, like SSD or other GPU if needed (but I don't think, all my build is REALLY overpower for my screen resolution XD) If the lian li k62 fit in my budjet, i had it, if not, i prefer have something fast than beautiful (but the ROG series are really pretty )

And a Mobo box do a really good case

Edit: Question here, which XSPC rasa kit I should buy? RS240 or RS360?
