Lee17 did you get the Patriot DDR3-2000mhz. ram

You stated this PC would be for gaming and OCing, so don't let slow ram hold you back

Thanks for watching

It may have been intended for midrange but thats not how it panned out. Currently it hangs with the most high end setups right now like it or not, cough 980x cough.....

To OP i'd have gone Asus rog Maximus IV but your kit is really nice too!

In all but really HEAVY threaded applications, to see sandy bridge beat the 980x in some encoding benches is nothing short of amazing tho.

If you really research between the maximus and the ud7, it seems the ud7 is the clear choice. Overclocking without using turbo is possible with ud7 I think this might be a UEFI bug or something or gigabyte figured a way around this I'm not sure. More phases blah blah blah. anyways the price point for the asus seems to be mostly a useless feature and red color premium. The ud7 will fit most color schemes it can be jazzed up with red accents or any other color you can think of cause it's just black/light gold.

Yea, the $350 usd price tag on the Maximus kinda blows for sure. All that red adds up lol.....
