Sound not quite right with Asus D2X

Thread Starter
I just picked up an Asus D2X. For the most part it is great. However the sound isnt quite right. Whenever I reboot all sounds are a bit off. For instance when surfing in IE and I click on a link it sounds rather off and hollow. But when I start to play some music and fiddle around with the audio option it seems to recognize itself (for lack of a better word) and plays back sound as it should until the next time i reboot. Any thoughts?

I had the same issue with my DX a while back,
i don't remember what i did but it eventually fixed itself.

I always noticed it when i pressed mouse4 to go back in a folder.

Think it could be a driver issue? At this point I'm thinking of reformatting and installing everything clean. But with all my stuff I'd hate to do all that

It may be a driver issues, probably is.
Don't reformat, it wouldn't make a difference.
I reformatted a lot (constantly getting new parts) and it was still there.
