Mismatch Sli Question......

Thread Starter
Ok i got asked a question today bye a kid wanting to buy my old 275. I wasn't sure of the true answer which in turn got me thinkin, so i thought i'd put it to you guys to see what you all said, so here it is:

"I have a gtx 280 and im wondering if i ran a gtx 275 in sli with it would i see any performance gains??

I know that in the past using mismatch cards was mostly pointless, but i also know that the support for this scenario has greatly improved.

He also stated he was playing crysis on "extreme" So i have explained that just as a Dedi physx it will help somwhat.

You still can't run SLI with two different type of cards.
Its not improved, as it was never supported and still isn't.

The only way is using the hydra chip which some motherboards (mostly MSI) has it.

Edit:
Also I don't think crysis really utilize nvidia physx, so don't see how using a dedicated card will make any difference to the game.
