Asus P7P55D problems

Thread Starter
This is going to be a long post, but please read the whole thing so you can better understand my situation.

Today, I upgraded from my year-old 775 setup to something a little more modern (see sig). I got everything together just fine, but I'm having some problems.

-I get some weird "ODD0" error after the board posts. It doesn't keep the system from booting or anything; it just tells me to press any key to continue and everything works just fine. It has something to do with my IDE DVD burner, I'm pretty sure.

-This board doesn't like my Trendnet TEW-644UB Wireless Adapter. Not only does it not work; it causes Windows to hang constantly. Windows won't even shut down with it plugged in (it just gets stuck at the "Shutting down" screen). I know for a fact that this isn't Windows' fault, because the adapter worked fine on my other mobo. It appears in Device Manager and is apparently "working properly".

-There are a few other weird USB-related problems as well. My flash drive wouldn't get recognized until I rebooted the system, and my game controller doesn't seem to be getting any power. My USB mouse works fine, so I don't think the USB ports are broken or anything.

I'm currently upgrading Windows over itself just to see if that fixes anything, but it seems to be stuck on the "transferring files, settings, and programs" step (the final step on the list). I can't move my cursor, but the screen isn't entirely frozen.

Things I have tried:
-Reinstalling Windows several times
-Starting in safe mode (Things seem to work a lot better here)
-Installing official drivers for the network adapter (nothing happened)
-sfc /scannow (no problems found)
-chkdsk (no problems found)

Things I haven't tried:
-Updating the BIOS (This will probably be my next step)
-Messing with BIOS settings too much

The USB problems are quite common. The problem is related mostly with the USB3.0's on the back. Try reinstalling the mobo drivers or updating them. Updating the BIOS is a good idea.

Updated the BIOS early this morning, which fixed the wireless adapter problem along with some various freezes.

I went out and bought a SATA DVD Burner to keep that error from coming up during POST. It works fine now.

Still have to iron out the kinks, but I've pretty much got everything up and running
