Haha good to hear!
Oh and, I looked on the Boxing Week Sale page, and it was on SALE! Sneaky NCIX, you have go to the item's page through the Boxing page, not regular search. >_>
When my dad get's to the store he's gonna call me, and I'm gonna give thim the Savings Code.

Now my computer truly will be a completely new build. Except for the monitor/keyboard of course.

Well yeah, that's why he called me.
But yes he did just call me, apparently it's backordered, and there's no more in stock. One employee is looking for an alternative for us.... I'm gonna try and look too.

I didn't see anything as cheap as that on NCIX though.
Oh please... I hope this works out...

When an OEM key is used it's tied to the motherboard. In order to re-use the same key it has to be "released". Think of the motherboard and key being tied together and releasing it makes it like a brand new key again without the ties to the motherboard.

As far as your power connecter stuff all you need is a simple spring switch wired to the pins. a simple test of hooking a battery and light bulb up to the wires, hitting the power switch and lighting the bulb would tell you what wires are the power switch. Then just makeshift any method to tie the pins to the switch. This can, and probably will, short out your LEDs for hdd and power... Might even short the speaker too, but at least you'll know what's what! lol

You can also do the same thing with a volt meter. Just check each wire while hitting the power switch. Eventually you'll get a spike in power which will tell you what wires created a closed circuit when hitting the switch.

You can also look at the OEM motherboard documentation online, it'll tell you where it's located on the board which will tell you how the custom plug works. There are all sorts of ways for doing this, you can even take the case apart enough to manually find where the wires go, then makeshift plugs for them. You can even solder, glue, or tape them on. lol I've done my fair share of makeshift work.

I have never had issues with OEM Windows. I had an OEM copy of Windows XP for roughly 6-7 years, and so I had to reactivate that more than a few dozen times.

Then one day I got a new computer and tried my luck with that copy of XP: I had to call for activation, but it was the same routine: they asked me a couple of questions, activated it, and then sent me on my way. There was nothing else involved. I was shocked and happy because I just saved myself $120.

So that's why I don't understand anything about this "releasing" stuff.

Haha I'm pleased. Except that my GTA experience really hasn't improved so much. Benchmark used to be 15 FPS, now it's 38. Inside buildings it's 50-60 FPS avg, but really outside on the streets, it's less than 30, more like 20. I was hoping for better.

I think I want to install Win7 right now, it'll make it feel like it was a completely new build. :s
But I still havenb't decided which disk to install to...
