2600K vs I7-950 - Page 14

I dunno, clock for clock its faster than the current i7 chips, and it clearly clocks higher.

I mean with that rationalization it made no sense for people to go i7 in the first place.

This!

Anyone with Dual Cores, even i5's will greatly benefit from SB.

Current I7 users are better off waiting for Ivy Bridge, as this will be a REAL upgrade for us.

Imagine what performance we are going to get from the 22nm process?

Besides, so long as Intel remains superior to AMD, isn't that what matters? LOL

You mean, besides the fact that we've had excellent performance for the past year or so? Plus, I still don't need to upgrade 'till Ivy Bridge comes out, my i7 can still hold its own against other *cough *cough chips.

You'll have to redefine excellent as nothing you can play I can't... And in most threaded apps I'm faster.

This one time I ran 3d mark 11 and scored in the highest bracket for gtx 470's and then another time I played a game at 60 fps, true story.

Sorry, multi-GPU is where PII fails to keep up.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/46?vs=146

Seem like in heavily multi-threaded apps, both are about equal (do you even use heavily multi-threaded apps?) and everything else PII loses heavily.

PII with my GTX 480 SLI would have been a joke, less than 60% GPU usage across most games.

Yah, I do video encoding and can encode videos faster than my connection can upload so it's nice to get the work done and q'ed up so I can do other things.

Probably because you did it wrong? I get 99% in everything with 900 core, I'll let you know if I can go higher once my water block comes, but at this point my gtx 470 is faster than a stock gtx 480 and it has no problems.

If bulldozer is anything better than crap Intel is in trouble. Locked chips? Only multiplier overclocking?

I'd rather not buy expensive ram I could have overclocked to in the first place or be limited to it forever.

You have a single GTX 470, which is perfectly fine. For high end multi-GPU setups, PII fails. Tell me when you go SLI or Crossfire, lets see your GPU usage. Will it go higher than 60-70%? Doubtful. Maybe if you use 32x AA + 16x AF @ 2560x1600 maybe you'll get 100% GPU usage.

It's funny that after we helped you troubleshoot the issues you were having where AMD failed you for the last time, you're back on the bandwagon.
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/8948...-new-post.html

Can you run this Linx test at 4.2, I'm curious to know what a 1090T gets, make sure it's a 24000 problem and 20 runs. You're also on water, and I'm on air, I've seen i7's scoring higher on water too, I'll see if I can dig it up.

Here's a 980x @ 4.4, so a 1090T should be somewhere in between?

Don't bother, he'll just keep telling himself that his 1090T is the fastest CPU in the world.
