That's what you'd like to believe. ( Hey, let's create the 1366 Ass Kicker Club, yeah man, we rule! We're finally caught up now, yippee. )

As for me, I'm happy with my computer, and even happier that new chips are coming out.

Even if the 2600k is faster, that doesn't mean that my computer doesn't crush anything I throw at it still. Can I still edit videos the same way I did before? You bet.

Can games still play the way they once did? of course.

It's not like now that new chips are out, our current chips suddenly don't work anymore or something.

Not sure why everybody is getting their panties up in a bunch, who would've thought that new tech 32nm would be slightly faster and overclock better than 45nm tech? ( astonishing discovery ) If anything, it should be a LOT faster, but it's pretty awesome for being new mainstream processors.

Anyone building a NEW rig would be better off going with a 2600k over 1366 quad cores, but anyone with an existing 1366 rig is better off waiting for Ivy Bridge if they really need to upgrade.

Most 1366 guys have had the fastest tech for the past year or more, it's about time something faster is coming out, and now the people with the slower tech are finally getting caught up. Good for you, enjoy it, you're finally caught up with the times now.

What's really funny here is that the people creating these controversial threads all have under 10 posts, and keep creating dupe accounts specifically for this purpose, and yet, you're all falling for it.

If you guys are acting like this with newer Intel chips, what's going to happen when Bulldozer comes around?

i say we just look at real reviews once the chips are released instead of comparing numbers that are based on speculation of unreleased chips.

since im still on 775 (and 775 is still a strong platform FTW!!!) i might think of going to SB, but i may not need to still. an upgrade might be required when ivy bridge is released, but it all depends on monies

Yes 2600K is faster than i7 950.

I heard i7 960 is faster than i7 950 too.

But somehow 920 is slower than 950. I can't see why. Definitely has nothing to do with clock speeds.....................

Only fanbois claim that clock speed plays a role in CPU performance right?

The 1366 AssKickers club was a joke which reflex ran with. Come on it's funny 2010.. Laugh.

As for BD.. Yeah.. I'll believe it when i see it. BD is so over hyped and there are NO results for it whatsoever.

That's exactly it.

I would be royally impressed and running to upgrade if say for example:

2600k @ 3.4 was faster than a 950 @ 3.8 ( That's ludicrous you say? Well, aren't the so called benchmarks comparing 3.4 vs 3.0? hmmm )

But what's going to happen when benchmarks have the chips running @ 3.4 vs 3.4, 4.0 vs. 4.0, etc. The 2600k will be only slightly faster, and I sure hope so considering it's on a 32nm process and all.

However, the plot thickens since you can OC higher on air with Sandy Bridge, and that's where the 2600k has the edge, but early reports state that people are having a hard time going past 5 GHZ, where as some people have reached 7GHZ with an i7-920 ON AIR ( just kidding )
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1508041

You see, it's all relative, every processor has its pros and cons.

It's definitely funny, I agree.

It's even funnier how some people are posting everywhere about how great their new chip is about to be, that they can't even sleep at night, and have to tell everyone about it. ( I'm not talking about you in particular )

And the funniest is people who take it personal that their computers are not going to be the fastest kids on the block anymore, that's even more amusing.

Do people's lives really revolve around their epeen this much? If so, that's pretty sad, and you should really get out more.

I really wonder what will happen if Bulldozer turned out to be faster than Sandy Bridge, we'll never hear the end of it, from you know who.

Are you excited about Ivy Bridge, and are you considering upgrading to it in the future?

Some butthurt LGA 775/AMD users claim that we i7 owners are whining or acting like fanbois because we're caught up. 2600K is pretty much the same at same clocks. So there's no need to whine. Most of us are waiting for the Socket 2011. S2011 will blow 1366 away. And i don't feel bad because of it.

And why would we whine when we can sell our chips and get new sandy bridge much easier than you? (since your procs will be ancient artifacts by the time SB comes out while we can sell our chips close to retail values then add lil cash to get ourselves high end SB.)
