Hey guys big question I'm in the Air Force and i just got orders to fighter squadron and my supervisor tells me I'll be going tdy quite often so what i really want to know is should i buy a gamers laptop or not? I mostly play RPG's like Fallout and some FPS but i want to be able to play the games with high graphics during my down time and if so whats a good laptop to get?

One good laptop will do you a good during your resting hours or down time. For brand or something you should tell how much are you willing to sacrifice for the laptop?

Laptops are horrible little pieces of crap for gaming, personally I use a macbook air for work only, no games, but there are some okay choices, i guess.

I would recomend, buying maybe I nice Asus gaming computer, maybe with a cheap dedicated GPU, scrap that and put in your own GPU.

the ASUS ROG G73 looks nice but could be a touch over 2k? theres also the old model with a 5870 (instead of gtx460) it has plenty of storage and a blu ray burner if you want to watch/back up movies.

I was in the Army, and I always liked to have a decent gaming laptop for TDY and deployment. If size and weight isn't a huge consideration, you might want to check out one of the newer ASUS machines. They're big, they're heavy, but they can play games like nobody's business. Plus, they look like a B-2 Bomber.

Something like the Asus Korosu posted would be nice.

If you want smaller and mobility, Dell put out the Alienware M11X for only $800 starting price.
