Masterkleer Tube will fit on D5 pump and DD high flow fitting 1/2?

Thread Starter
I would like to know if this (7/16" ID (5/8" OD) Masterkleer) would fit into this (DD-High Flow Fittings) and also in a DD12V-D5 Pump. I used to use Tygon 3603 1/2" ID (3/4" OD), but I heard those would work just as good and it's a lot cheaper.

Another question I have is about those compression fittings, are they any good? The looks is alot better, but safety wise should I stay with my automobile cramps?

Thanks.

You bet that tubing will fit on those barbs (and pump). Just heat up some distilled water in the microwave to make it easier to get the tubes onto the barbs.

As far as compression fittings go, I prefer them both aesthetically and functionally compared to barbs. They are just as safe to use as barbs/worm clamps.

Well I got 7/16 in my loop, using D5 and DD Fatboys, a little tricky to get it on the D5, but it does fit!

If you are using 1/2 barbs its no need for zipties or anything. Its so stuck you have to cut it to get it off! So compression fittings is not needed here.

Ok so how does you heat the tube, do you insert the tube to the fitting first then you instert the fittings to the block? Because that's the only way I could figure it out, as if I have to add some hot/warm water and to make it fit, which is out not fit yet, will just spill water all over. What are your method of achieving this?

Thanks.

Install the barbs onto the components first. Then dip the ends of the tubes into the warmed up water, and slide them onto the barbs.
