hey guys so i randomly got an old pavilion laptop for free n figured id redo it on cheap for some net browsing n maby watchn videos. as this thing is old as dirt im tryn to spend as little as possible. so my question is, is it worth it to go to the max 1gb of memory or stay at 768mb i had a 512 layn round i put in it to bump it up from the original 512. so what do u guys think is it worth the 15-20 id spend on ebay for another 512 stick?

Id say its not worth spending any money on it, but you usually can get older memory for free from someone you know or some old pc you find.

But not much difference between 768mb and 1gb really!

Adding more memory (maxing it to the capacity that it can handle) to an old rig is the cheapest way to notice an improvement in it's function. True story!

Whatever you do or you decide to just remember that as it holds true for just about any build.
