The best, monstrous,brutal air cooler?

Thread Starter
So, simple as that.. what's the most brutal air cooler there is on the market?

My friend got the Noctua NH-D14 and I want to know if I can get one that can beat the **** out of his cooler?

I know Noctua is considered one of the best out there, but there has to be a better more brutal one XD

take the silver arrow and put the most brutal fans on it?
afaik, the silver arrow has the same (usually 1*C - 3*C better difference), couple that with two very high powered fans and you have a winner, dont forget to make sure you have a well ventalated case, otherwise the cooler will be blowing hot air to cool something which is stupid...

so to recap:

Get the Silver Arrow
Get some Really high powered fans
Add the optional third fan and your set
Make sure your case got very good airflow

I would say with the extra high powered (albeit Noisy Fans) and the additional third fan, as well as good ventalation with a cooler thats ~2*C better, you should see about a 7-9*C different imo.

if you seriously wanna do some pwnage go LN2
or seriously you could go water cooling, which is quiet and performs better...

why you so hung up on beating him?

The Silver Arrow is a proven better cooler then the D14. Not by much though, a few degrees maybe.

Apparently, people have been saying that the ThermalRight Archon is better then both the SA and D14. Of course, I'm not entirely sure about that yet.

You can't find an air cooler which can blow the D14 out, because the D14 is already one of the top performing air coolers, and among the top performing air coolers, the difference between each cooler is only 1-2C.

the silver arrow with two high rpm 38mm fans would probably be your best choice.
It's kinda unnecessary though, since you can cool every cpu with the SA on a pretty high overclock, and that's with the very quiet stock fans...

Does anyone know if the Archon can fit in the Coolermaster 690 II advanced?. I'm concerned about the height being 170mm.

Thermalright Archon > both the D14 and SA.

If you want brutal fans, then snag some Delta's and put em' on there.

If you want excellent fans that won't get on your last nerve, get some Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-15 1850 RPM's.
