i7 860 temps good?

I helped the gf's brother install an H50 on his 860 last night and forgot to check temps on the stock cooler before changing, but with the occt cpu test he maxed around 51C on one core, the rest around 48C. Is this good or no? I know amd, not intel so much (but will after sb releases!)

Thx

sorry that would probably help judge temps lol, this is stock. I read around a bit more and saw temps around 75C for this chip at 4.0 so I'm thinkin its ok. Whats the Tmax for a 860?

Tj Max is 100 I believe, but you wont want to go past 85 beyond which it begins to throttle your power.

that is a little warm, how is the ambient temp/airflow to the case?

Should be pretty good. Its in an antec 900 with only a GTX 460 in the case, cool ambient (65F id guess) and the H50 is in push/pull.

I guess thinking about it it's not that high for load. I'm guessing low to mid 30s for idle?

Either way you have about 20oC leeway under load for an overclock.

thats what i was thinking. Im not sure if that was with HT on honestly though, whatever default occt cpu is for intel gave those temps. forgot to check the HT...
