some games are, some arent. it depends on the game.

Some go for realism, armed assault, operation flashpoint. some go arcade, call of duty, bc2.

We have read, we have proved you wrong, what more can we do. Drive over to your house, and smack your mom for leaving a 12 year old on the internet unattended?

Suppressors reduce flash and sound. They are only loud because of the supersonic crack of the round. With subsonics most decent cans will let you hear the bolt working in the gun over the round itself. Most of the pop that you hear is from the round breaking the sound barrier.

Also what many people think is that they suppress the host weapon a ton. They actually do more too shift the sound into the range the human ear cant perceive. Most suppressors only reduce the sound around 120-140db. But every 3db reduction is perceived as twice as quite under 140db. Has to do with the sound being shifted. Some cans can cause hearing damage and you cant hear it dude to it being inaudible. Anything under 140db in the suppressor world is considered hearing safe, but it is a measurement of all the sound not just what you can hear or perceive.

Suppressors also increase velocity and accuracy. Velocity due to it actually working like a longer barrel letting the gases push the round longer. And more accurate due to less adverse yaw being put on the round when it leaves the barrel the hole in the end of a can is usually 1/1000 inch bigger than the round that goes though it.

But you haven't and its getting sad. All you do is attend to some parrallel you construct so as to appear as if you are providing a valid point to the main argument I proposed. That doesn't work.

See you prove what you attempt to disprove. I'm not referring to total realism in games. I am referring to elements of games. Like cars in GT5 or an ak in COD. They are getting better. Those are examples and are not to be taken as the definitive point for or against said argument as it is a MACRO spectrum, not micro.

COD hasn't gotten any better than it was back in Call Of Duty 1, or Big Red One or whatever the first was...

Someone can't read. Look at what you quoted. NOT COD EXCLUSIVELY.

Why do u feel the need to focus on COD? I'm not so I don't see how you are actually making any legitimate point here

You posted advancement yet called it otherwise? What? delay-delay-delay and drop thats advancement. Also I don't even find that to be a major argument either way. I'm talking about how the game is developed. Modern games include sound clips of actual weapons, resemble the actual weapon more closely, and establish a reasonable standard for that gun's performance. All which find roots in an increasing pool realistic effects.

Same with driving games, which I encourage anyone to discredit. A game pitching realism is far more realistic today than it was 10 years ago. suck ma dack

SO,

With the increasing realism portrayed in many video games (such as COD: BO and BFBC2) it seems the main focus of developers has been on integrating real weaponry in manners which largely resemble how each respective weapon works in a real life situation. My focus is not on realism in game play, but in the weaponry. Specifically, suppressors.
lets see, neither of these games are attempting to be more realistic. They are attempting to be fun. They aim to have things seem realistic because that is what they are going for, they dont want to arm modern armies with lasers, unless they want those modern armies to be armed with lasers set in an alternate universe.

They have no interest in making suppressors that act like they do in real life, because they dont make the guns act like they do in real life, other than they kill people. They aim for fun and balance.

We are focusing on COD, and BC2 because you specifically choose them as examples. Maybe back up your arguments with something that is actually logical.
