Plus the ref 5770 one of the best OC card there is.

And even the non ref cards can be V modded generally.
Have mine at 960/1375 at 1.20v and had them at 1000+/1400
plus, but heat became a problem because of my board in CF.
Added ram heat sinks and side case fan to help.
It did.

Spacing on my board and top card a problem
Spacing problem Pics.
And case fan help.

For sure, that's why I went with 5770CF. Only thing is I don't got the reference ones unfortunately, as the non-reference ones were much cheaper. What do you use to adjust the voltage? Definitely going to OC mine.

HD 6950 is a great card, and you will get maximum performance even in non fullscreen games, which is one benefit.

Another is how good its tessellation performance is compared to the 5xxx series.

As for GTAIV, it's a craptastic console port and is very heavy on CPU's. I'm not saying your corei7 is slow but GTAIV likes clocks and overclocking your CPU would probably give you a nice boost in performance.

It's really a toss up, I enjoy the crap out of my 5770s still and they perform great in my opinion. But if you feel the need to upgrade then a 6950 is a good choice. You could sell the 5770s and put the money toward another 6950 for crossfire as well.
