Q6600, 3.6Ghz OC, 1.45v - voltage look good?

Thread Starter
I have been running on a stable 3.6Ghz OC on my Q6600 for a couple of weeks now. I wanted to be sure I was not cooking my chip though. Does 1.45v seem too high for a Q6600?

Thank you!

That is good Vcore..(don`t go over 1.5V for 24/7 usage).

Keep your core temperatures under 75C at all time..

Not at all. Mine takes 1.44 so you looking good. Like KingT says just watch the temps. I don't like mine over 70C under any circumstance. Q6600's routinely take up to 1.6v (in BIOS) and keep on ticking. Not that yours will.

What has been your highest non-stable OC on that? I've been able to boot into Windows 3.8@1.55v but air cooling keeps me from trying to go further.

3.6 is a very nice 24/7 clock btw.

CHEERS..

After playing BFBC2 for a couple of hours these are my temperature averages as monitored by Real Temp 3.40. BFBC2 keeps my CPU very busy running from 35-95% utilization.

Min avg temp: 36C
Max avg temp: 67.75C
Highest recorded temp: 73C

I've been running 3.76GHz at 1.496 for over 2 years now (on water mind you). When compiling source code I top out around 51C. I recently reseated with OCZ Freeze, since I had IC Diamond on there for around 2 years.

Get a better cooler and you'll have much better temps.

My q6600 is running at 3.7ghz, loaded temps = 68c

Idle temps = 25,27,25,28

After 3 hours of playing bad company 2 = highest temps on each core 51,53,48,49

better cooler, my recommendation, yours just isnt built to deal with quad core heat

Q6600 are power hungry. I can do 3.6Ghz @ 1.45v but to do 3.8v I have to bump voltage to 1.59. Dont think theres an air cooler that can handle that kind of heat past 3.6Ghz.
