Sennheiser HD180 vs HD 201 vs HD 202

So what's the difference between these two? I am going to be using them mostly for gaming. I know these all are pretty cheap headphones, but I still would like the best one of the bunch!

Thanks!

Bump for his sake.

I really don't know, but I'm pretty sure that it goes like this.

202II>202>201>180.

wouldn't recommend any of them. I've owned lots of low end sennheisers.
They fall apart and break very easily. With the money you end up spending replacing 2-3 pairs of them you may as well get a $60-$100 pair of headphones of much higher quality.

Thanks.

Yea, I would think/hope so lol. I don't know anything about audio and as far as specs go I don't know what they mean or what. smile.gif

I'm not an audiophile and I don't want to spend that much for some headsets. I was just going to go to walmart so I would think these are a better upgrade. I am just looking to spend $30 tops.

While the above is true about build quality, very plasticky on the headband and arches, you get what you pay for. 30 bucks means you have to cut back in quality. As long as you dont abuse it,

ie: throw it in your backpack along with text books biggrin.gif it should last you many years.

HD202 is more a DJ headphone, so it has heavier bass (and at times muddy bass) than its HD201 brother. It is recommended for gaming. The HD201 is a much more musical pair of headphone, and I own both currently, as well as the HD555. I highly recommend the HD201s, as I paid 15 dollars for them. They are beyond a doubt the best bang for the buck. I have had them for over half a year now.

I would buy two and keep one as a backup.

For 30-50 dollars I would recommend JVC's RX500, but they may be a little more than 30 dollars.

I would probably not listen to music on them as I only listen to music in the car for some reason..not much of a music fan.

So for my purposes would the 202's be bettor than the 201's and would the JVC's RX500 the better than both of those and the 180's?

Thanks:)

HA-RX500's are only about $25 bucks most places I've seen them online.

If they're better than the Sennheisers that have been listed here, definitely get them. Specs definitely look better than the Sennheisers.

^I see you've decided on the JVC's, but in case you change your mind, just thought I'd chime in that the 201's are MUCH more comfortable than the 202's. They sound pretty much the same too, though the 202's are a tad louder for some reason.

Edit: Oh, and concur with the above regarding build-quality for the 202's, but the 201's are pretty solid. I've thrown them in suit-cases, laptop-bags, purses (not mine.. lol redface.gif), suitcases... still in great shape.

I'm not really concerned with the build quality since they will only really be on my desk and plugged into my computer most of the time. I don't even remember the last time I had a pair of headphones plugged in my itouch to listen to music.
