G15 vs G510

Thread Starter
Hey, recently, my old g15 v2 broke. I'm concerned about the G510 though. I'm wondering what latency/polling rate the G15 uses, for I think it is 1ms/1000Hz. I've heard that the G510 has a latency of 2ms/500Hz. It this true, or is there any way to change this? I'm really concerned as to how this will affect gameplay, as I play scout as a main class on tf2 and lobby every now and again, and may go into competitive play soon.

Thanks

From my experience with my G15 V2 I'd say buy another one, the polling rate difference would not be to noticeable except in very very fast gameplay where you will be spamming multiple keys.
The G15 is definitely 1ms/1000Hz and I'm pretty sure you cannot speed up the polling rate of the G510.
Also either of those keyboards are very nice but have you ever considered mechanical keyboards, they are alot better for competitive play.

Hope this is helpful to you smile.gif

A typical keyboard is scanned at 5ms and above because of keybounce. In other words this latency hype is just made up by the gaming keyboard marketing departments.

And definitely stick with USB.

Alright, I've been looking into mechanical keyboards, but I do love the screen on the G15...also I may look into the razer boards; they all poll 1ms/1000Hz. However, is there an issue with wear/tear on the Razer Lycosa Mirror? I heard about the wear/tear issue with the keys on the Razer lycosa standard edition. I may as well consider a mechanical keyboard. :| this is definitely not fun; my g5 broke this month and I had to replace it with a g9x.
