Would this MoBo be good for a WHS?

I find this combo deal and with another code can get it for around $40. However, I am very particular about wanting a small form factor case. Would Micro ATX be alright for that need or do I nee to go smaller? I will be wanting to store two Hard Drives in RAID 1.

Also if you have any case suggestions that would be awesome.

Did you mean to ask if theres a need to go with a larger mobo and case? I would definitely go with a smaller case. My WHS is kind of a set it and forget it type deal unlike my desktop which I rip apart all the time. So having something small and convenient is a definite plus.

That combo looks like a great deal if it ever comes back in stock.

Heres a case suggestion. It looks sleek and super quiet. I prefer cases with some type of hard drive insulation. Only catch is that these cases are pretty big for being micro ATX. I had a hard time finding many options under 100, although I'm very picky.

If white isn't your thing, amazon has the grey version for 80 shipped. Though it says it might take 2-4 weeks to ship.

That motherboard will work but for a small form factor I would go with MicroATX or Mini ITX but that will be much more expensive. Are you going to use WHS? If you get version one I wouldn't use raid just use the drive extender, and I would add a system drive. For a nice case that is not too big is the LIAN LI PC-V354B. Its perfect for a home server plenty of room to expand/

My concerns would be that there are only 4 SATA ports. Sure you can add more but that drives up cost to a mobo with 6 native ports.

Anything smaller than mATX will either drastically increase price (50-200% more) or provide lower performance.

With WHS, you don't need RAID....

What if it were a Linux Server and why would it not need RAID? How many drives should I use?
