Computer not starting after graphice card/psu installation.

Thread Starter
In my hp p6250f i had recently replaced my factory psu with a corsair TX650W power supply and replaced my ati card with a nvidia GTX460 and when i tried to power it on the fans only went on (no video output) and the power button that usually turns blue when you turn it on remained off. So I tried to just remove the GTX460 and when I turned it on the fans would rev up and then goes back down until it stopped. This is the same system as the one I have listed in my sig rig.

P.S. I am sorry if this is in the wrong section, I don't know the real source of the problem so feel free to move this thread to the correct location.

Sure you have all the motherboard connectors connected properly?

I would check the 4/8 pin molex for the motherboard and check the molex connector for the video card itself

used to be hp used proprietary psu's...dont know now of course, since it fit your system, would suggest checking to see if anything is out of place, such as not plugged in etc. and see if you have anything grounding out the comp

Ok, me and my brother are double checking all connections right now. I can't try the last video card because I already gave it to my dad.

EDIT: I found the problem their is a connector see image one that needs to be connected and i was wondering since i don't have that connector on my new psu can i use the wire in picture 2. It fits in snugly to it but i did not turn it on because i don't want to mess up my computer. They are the same color but i still want to make sure. here is the image shake link for the pictures
