Hi everyone, I'm new to overclocking, I have read up a lot on it and know the real basics, and I want to overclock my CPU to get a better performance :-)
So I thought I'd ask u guys, as I read a lot of yours oc posts, u guys know ur stuff lol

So I got my computer custom made from pcspecialist and the specs are below:

*Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™2 Quad Q8300 (4 X 2.50GHz) 1333MHz FSB/4MB Cache

Memory (RAM)
4GB CORSAIR XMS2 800MHz - LIFETIME WARRANTY! (2x2GB)

Motherboard
ASUS® P5N-D: DDR2, SATAII, 2 x PCI-e x16, 2 PCI, 2 x PCI-e x1

Operating System
Genuine Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium 64 bit
But I installed windows 7 now also 64 bit

Memory - 1st Hard Disk
500GB SERIAL ATA II HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (7,200rpm)

Graphics Card
1024MB GEFORCE 9800GT PCI Express + DVI + TV-OUT

Power Supply & Case Cooling
450W Quiet Dual Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan

Processor Cooling
ASUS SILENT KNIGHT II PURE COPPER ULTRA COOLER

Monitor
LG W2252TQ 22 inch Wide: HDCP/DVI/2MS/1680 x1050*

So I was just wondering what oc specs or info can u guys suggest would be the best for the setup I got, I know it's a bit old but still runs pretty well and well hence why I want to overclock it lol

I'd apprechiate any help guys :-)
Thanks,
Alex

Do you know how to clear your bios? Before you do what I posted below make sure you know how. (Since it is your first post I really have no idea what your computer background is)

Could you set your cpu voltage to 1.36 (in the bios should be a bit lower in windows with cpu-z) NB to 1.4 and HT to 1.36. FSB at 1600, ram at 800, leave the PCIE at 100, and let me know how it goes? Make sure you have the little fan that came with the motherboard for the NB installed.
