Fraps: Getting lag spikes in BFBC2.

I overclocked my i5-760 to 4.0ghz and left my gtx 460 at stock at first, and I was getting 70 fps with everything on max, including 1920x1080 resolution on BFBC2, and I was able to get a consistent 40-60 fps while recording with fraps.

I decided to overclock the GPU and I was able to get 845/2000 on stock voltages pretty easily, and you would think that it would INCREASE fps, but every time I turn fraps on, the fps stutters stays at 40-50 like usual, but it stutters to as low as 10 fps every couple seconds and its pretty unplayable while recording now.

I only have 1hdd, but it was better before I overclocked the gpu. Does anyone know whats wrong?

You should have a separate hdd to record to. FRAPS streams constantly, and your hdd can't handle that and the game loading.

I know I should, but before I overclocked, It ran fine at a constant 40-50 fps, which is more than optimal in BFBC2. I wouldn't see a gameplay performance decrease with those FPS.

I have an external hard drive. Won't be getting another internal for a while. Would that help?

Yeah, try streaming to the external, anything to stop it from writing and reading from the same drive.
