MSI 870A-G54 AM3 AMD 870 Cooling Questions

Hey I have a question. What is a good heatsink for the MSI 870A-G54 AM3 AMD 870 for overclocking a Phenom II 1055t to 3.8ghz that will cost around 30 dollars for the motherboard heatsink? Also if you look at my system below you will see the cpu cooler, is that good for overclocking? and should I get a heatsink for my G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 Memory? And same goes for my Sapphire Radeon 6850(should I overclock it for games like call of duty?), what is a good heatsink for that and do I need it... So here is the list

-Good Heatsink for MSI 870A-G54 AM3 AMD 870(for overclocking Phenom II 1055t to 3.8ghz) for around 30$?

-Is the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus good for overclocking it to 3.8ghz?

-Should I get a Memory Heatsink for G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 Memory?(If so link to the heatsink Please)

-And should I get a Heatsink for a Sapphire Radeon 6850 and should I overclock it for games like Call of Duty?(If so link to Heatsink Please)

P.S. Could you try to keep the products pretty cheap like under 40 please if possible smile.gif Thanks in advance!

yeh its a good cooler for that price range....if your goal is 3.8, hyper 212 is will do the job. if your batch is one the good one, you can stay near 1.4v and get that OC. if you wanna push for 4ghn, then you will need a more beefy cooler.
- ripjaw stays cool ,, if you got enough air flow in you case, thats enough for keeping the rams !
- 6850's stock cooling is adequate for mild ocing... just adjust fan speed in afterburner and you will be fine ! in recent years new generations stock coolers have improved quite a abit !

Okay good to know I can save some money there but do you have a suggestion for a motherboard heatsink because I was told that that motherboard will get fried without a good one? And is overclocking the 6850 worth it for games like Call of Duty? Also for airflow will one 120mm on the side, rear, and front be okay with one 140mm on the top? will that be enough to keep the ripjaw cool?

Mugen 2 is better then hyper 212 and for about $43.
Hold on here. You are talking about VRM coolers or cpu coolers?

With that mobo you NEED VRM coolers if you want to overclock. Many people have fried that same mobo because it has 4+1 power phases. Buy this preferably:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835708012

And, if you want the perfect cooling solution, buy some thermal epoxy, it glues and tranfers heat, but, its permanent, so be careful.

Hold on here. You are talking about VRM coolers or cpu coolers?

That Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler you mentioned will allow for more overclocking? And I am talking about mosfet cooling for the motherboard because on another thread they said if I overclocked that High I would fry my motherboard... so what would I do about that use mosfet coolers? and which one? link please thanks smile.gif

Those were the ones I was looking at how many 10 or 20? And if I used thermal epoxy would that be better cooling than the vrm coolers? Is thermal epoxy easy to put on? or do you do what you would do for cpu cooling and put some on the vrm coolers and then attatch them? is that what you do?

Enzotech MOS-C10 C1100 is good, but I like Enzotech MOS-C1 Forged Copper Mosfet Heatsinks and you need 2 sets of these. I use them on all my mobo that doesn't have VRM coolers.

so I would need 20 of those? and would I still use some thermal epoxy? like is it the same procedure as it is for cpu coolers? and also is the Mugen 2 much better than the hyper 212 plus?

I don't use thermal epoxy, because if you need to RMA the mobo you are screw. When you use thermal epoxy. I use the thermal pad that come with it they work just fine. If you want to use thermal epoxy then first use the thermal pad then oc it. If the VRM holds out for about a month then take the VRM coolers off and use thermal epoxy.
