Well I just use a mousepad I got from the local lan center by my house, you can try a razer Goliathus though, i heard they're nice. But don't get the sphex, imo its to much of a "hard" mousepad. i like cloth ones

I went through this same thing, and that is when I realized that reviews and user opinions are useless except for giving a general idea.

I finally said screw it and started ordering a bunch from best buy. They let you return online ordered items to the store. After I found the one I wanted, I took the rest back

If you have a palm grip, I would suggest the Logitech mx518 or G500. The Deathadder 3.5Gs sensor is not good. If you're looking for a less bulky mouse, consider the steelseries xai but expect a small amount of acceleration with this mouse.

There may be some bad apples here and there, but generally speaking, the 3.5G's Avago S3888 (DA only) works perfectly fine without bugs via latest firmware. In fact, It wouldn't be crazy for me to say that the 3.5G DA has one of the best LED based sensors in a mouse.

As far as logitech's Mx518, the drivers are completely glitched in conjunction with the sensor. It's max malfunction and perfect control rate is a lot lower than it should be. To avoid problems, most people uninstall drivers and manually bump polling rate via HIDUSBF.sys.

As for a fair warning, the Avago 9500 in the Xai and G500 both produce random amounts of positive and negative acceleration in conjunction with cloth surfaces. It may or may not effect the end user, but it's fairly noticeable at least IMO. Also, like you mentioned, the sensor will produce slight positive acceleration on all other surfaces.

i have the deathadder 3600 right hand mouse, and it works great! i love it, and i just use whatever free mousepad i can get at the time. right now im using it with an nvidia mousepad i got for free from a lan party. working great. great thing about the deathadder is that it stays accurate even on different surfaces
post #20 of 31
I have used a deathadder for the longest time, no problems, and it tracks good on everything that I put it on.
I use a Razer golathius mousepad, and the mouse just feels smooth and precise.
I have had mine for almost 3 years, and It is durable, and still looks like new.
the pads on the bottom have a little bit of wear, but nothing that bothers me.
I find it weighs just the right amount, not too heavy as to impede use, but heavy enough to feel stable, planted and accurate. It's well built, and the solid rubber scroll wheel works great, and never has any play as to twitch or move without input like on many other mice. The buttons on the side are placed perfectly, and are always within reach, and need just the right amount of pressure to trigger them. Not so light as to have random presses, but just the right amount to make presses easy and fluent, with no play in between presses.

I love the mouse, it's the best one that I have ever used, and best for the price IMO.

The software is good, never really used it, but it has more options to tinker with than a nuclear submarine if you want to get deep into customization.
Yet at the same time, its basic interface is simple and works great if you're not into customizing it to insane levels. ( I just use it to turn on/off the lights on the mouse during lan parties or when f@h to make the computer look like it's off.

As for the mouse pad, I find the golathius very responsive, but at the same time not abrasive on your wrist, and has a bit of flexable foam under it to give it grip and to make it more comfortable.
I think it feels and tracks better than any of the random mouse pads that I got for free from events or some cheap ones from best buy. Plus it looks slick and makes my computer look more like a pro gaming rig that you would buy from a boutique than something that I slapped together in a weekend (even though i did ).
It's worth the money IMO.
