Which one should i get?

Hi guys
im a noob at computers so help me pick

Im choosing between I5 760 and Phenom II x6 1075T
ill be doing mostly gaming and some video rendering
i wont upgrade for 4 - 6 years so.


and which mobo should i get if i go with the x6?

But something tells me that that's not the answer you were looking for. I CAN tell you that I have an i5 750 running OC'd to 3.4ghz and it's great for gaming (BC2 runs nicely paired with my 5750's in crossfire). I'm sure the 760 would also be a great choice that you could easily overclock to get some extra performance as long as you get a decent mobo. I personally have been very pleased with my MSI board that came with the overclocking genie button (does the work for you).

Based on mb selection you've done decided on the x6, which is a fine cpu

According to what you want to do with the pc, but should last at least 3-5. My E6400 is a 4 yo dual core which still works perfectly

Yes thats true, but the x6 will be better in the future, when games become more threaded
