TRUE vs h50

Thread Starter
I had a lapped TRUE and just got a h50 for cheap from a friend. I lapped the h50 and I am still getting a few degrees higher temps then I did on the true (on stock clocks). Should the TRUE be beating the h50? I ask because I want to keep the h50 since it gave me real estate back.

Also keep in mind I just lapped and reseated it today so the as5 hasnt cured but would the curing really give me that much better temps?

as of now the h50 has higher temps and is louder but higher temps by a degree or two. Lapping it def helped ALOT

If curing paste wasn't going to make a huge difference, would they say it had a curing period?

I can't speak for the H50, but I know I just adjusted the mount on my H70 and chopped an easy 5 degrees off just by "completing" what I started and evening out the showing threads on the backside of the mobo. Lapping is what it is- an art form more than anything. Are you talking STOCK on both counts? Two fans? One fan? Stock fan?

Make no mistake- the TRUE is absolutely KICKASS- especially with two fans. You might knock a bit off it with the SA or the Archon... but don't be surprised if it spanks the early pre-built water cooling options like the H-50. (Or at least matches it)

Thanks for the info I am going to wait for the curing to finish. I am talking stock clocks. I am using the same fan (high yate loon) from the true on the rad.
Basically I have held everything the same just changing the cooler. Both have been lapped and both are using the same fan. I was expecting the h50 to be better than the TRUE due to the fact that it competes with the megahelms and the megas are believed to beat the TRUE.

That being said I got 3.6 on the h50 and still have room to move so I think it was worth the cheap price. Basically I can sell either one back and make my money back if shipping isnt too much.

its all about max OC load temps. some coolers perform better than others when the heat is turned up. my guess is that the H50 will do slightly better than the TRUE at your max OC
