If data recovery programs dont work, i think it's gone..
Also, NEVER store stuff in program files, just make a folder within a folder within a folder, inception style.
Also
if it's in C it's in recycle bin.

Try system restore. if that doesnt work, run Recuva and see - you should be able to salvage most of your files.

What you do is make a fake program folder, then folders such as bin, and WIN32 and random things such as that, then many hidden folders and non hidden ones. Or you can put it on a flash drive and then tape in inside your case and just take it out when you need those files. If you have a paneled ceiling then you could take the insulation out of one of the walls, put the drive in a metal box that doesn't weigh too much then toss it down there in the wall, when you need it just take a decently powered magnet on a string and snag the box, when you grab the box you can pull it up and grab your drive, the repeat from step one to hide it again! biggrin.gif

For general folder higidng right click on the folder and click invisible. Then in the search bar type folder, then change the folder options to not view hidden folders.

..... great way to hide pron from a general user

********

I used to keep a DVDRW of personal Pron in my cd holder on my car visor ... great backup

What!??! What have drivers to do with your files?! You actually put photos in a subfolder of the driver folder..? That's..weird. Recovering programs are not that great, they present a million files raw, and you are expected to open each of the files to see what they are..

But if you are willing, good luck.

this is probably the best way to do it. i have the "view hidden folders" toggled onto a macro because i'm too lazy to do the 4 mouse clicks
