Will the i7 2600k be this good?

Like in this picture here?

(taken from PassMark website)
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?...0K+%40+3.40GHz

It comes awfully close to a 980x, it doesn't seem right.

Or are those results incorrect?
Or maybe don't exactly understand what those scores mean? It says performance..
Or, if this is right, if I overclock a 2600k to 4Ghz+, it should be twice as fast as a 920, assuming I use a good motherboard/ram/etc?

Confused..

Someone please beat some sense into me

Edit: On the other hand, the average CPUmark for the 2600k is about 9300
While the score for my i7 920 is 7209 points, which seems a little bit more believable.

Imagine what will happen if that 2600k is taken to 4.5 Ghz..

Unless we see a clock-for-clock comparison with turbo mode disabled it's hard to say what gains we would see. Most places show comparisons of a faster clocked SB that also have turbo enables, witch is superior.

To me it looks like SB will be 10% faster on average than similarly clocked Nehelem.

Phew, I was worried that my sig rig was getting outdated...

Turbo disabled? Sounds like the same BS Amd owners used to say about HT

Wow Jean-Luc you do you search only for Sandy Bridge threads? You are popping up all over the place...

It doesn't sound like that to me. I'm buying an i5 2500k, but only after the reviews come out. What is the point of the benchmarks if the newer Sandy Bridge has a higher turbo frequency? The benchmark results are misleading.

Look, my poor little PII isn't even on there. FAIL. SB looks promising i7 users might not need to upgrade, but for those who are upgrading to a new system and have a choice, I don't see any reason to go Nehalem over Sandy Bridge, especially with 32nm, lower TDP and great prices.

Maybe he shows up in these forums because he's one of the few who actually have one?
