Secure erase before disk image (Acronis) restore?

Thread Starter
I have a C300 256 SSD that is performing superbly. Since I frequently mess with my boot drive I occasionally find it simpler to restore my Acronis 2011 disk image to the drive. If I were to secure erase this drive prior to the restoration of the disk image, would I enhance its post-restoration performance?

Obviously, if it would help I would not make this a frequent practice to ensure the life of the SSD.

Thanks in advance.

I bet you should run some trim management tool before doing a secure erase. Don't SSD have a certain number of rewrites allowed...before they start degrading? I know in Intel ones it displays all that info.
