as crossfire set on a Gigabyte board?

which brand (XFX or Gigabyte) will allow me to get the most out of my cards?

The difference between the two gigabyte cards is the more expensive one is pre-overclocked. The factory overclock is very small though, so you should get the stock one instead and overclock yourself.

The Gigabyte coolers look to be better than the XFX ones, so you should get one of those.

Dont buy 6850 oc version of Gigabyte card, as it got non-reference voltage controler that doesnt allow software voltage control

The differences in the XFX cards is that the 199 is the original one out with original clocks and the 189 is the newest revision I beleive with slightly higher clocks. the 189 doesn't mention a double lifetime warranty anywhere also.

I have the 199 xfx and it's running at 950/1150 with stock voltages. But I'd say go with the stock Gigabyte, it'll run cooler and still OC really nice.
