Dead sennheiser hd595. - Page 2

Give them a little time, my 555's sounded kinda lifeless but after burn in and installing my STX with a headphone amp they sound pretty good now And make sure your music isn't horribly brickwalled... the worst mastered CD I have is Brandon Boyd's Wild Trapeze and it sound like total CRAP :/

I'm not sure why people are ignoring the fact that your speaker is blown. Popping during bass indeed means that the driver has been blown and you should RMA it to Sennheiser.

High end? HD595?

They're open, so you're not going to get the driving force of a closed headphone, alot of the sound gets outside of the headphone, even if they do have a much better soundstage you really sacrifice alot if you're playing music at high volume.

I do know a bit about audio, and when I pay £150 for headphone I don't expect the right channel to randomly cut off, then to almost get tinnitus when listening to a song at really not that loud of a level, there dead and I do know a good sound when I hear it that's why I got open its not all about bass.

Huh, sorry to hear that. Let us know what the seller says. Sennheiser is more than likely "THE" biggest audiophile company and unfortunately poor CS seems to be a hallmark of huge companies.

Grados, on the other hand...

EDIT: To the poster who was admonishing papcrap for calling his headphones "high-end"... how on earth can you claim to know anything about audio if he describes the clear symptoms of a blown driver and you call it "soundstage"? My old Grados could make my ears bleed so don't say that open headphones are all quiet.

If they offer me a refund I might take it, this really is poor service form such a well respected company.

Yup coming from a headphone forum I have really seen nothing but bad news about Senn CS. Even for those who buy their ultimate top-of-the-line headphone.
