Apple does have these problems.
Its the same thing as apple sending your location to add servers so they can give you an add for your location.
And that comes with a fresh IPHONE

And this ladies and gentlement, is what rooting your phone for free software gets you. If you weren't running as root 24/7, the virus would be harmless, since it wouldn't have permission to run.

Since you 'say' your getting a page not found let me quote a bit of the article:

Quote:
Security experts are urging iPhone users to be vigilant as the world’s first self-replicating iPhone virus is discovered.

The virus is thought to affect all generations of iPhones, and in crucial contrast to the only known iPhone virus, also affects non-jailbroken handsets – putting 25 million iPhone users at risk worldwide.
and here is the link to the youtube video... or maybe that wont open for you either...

The thing is, he is quite right. Apple has security hole flaws all the time, and so will android. You're going to find them no matter what side you take. How do you think they jailbreak these devices? Security holes, and there have been viruses on the iphone before, attainable only through jailbreaking the device. Many months ago there was also the MMS security hole. Doesn't matter what you use you're going to find these problems wherever you go.
Don't get so worked up about this, its a risk you take unlocking the device whether it be rooting or jailbreaking.

Pride before the fall. It doesnt matter what you have; iPhone, Droid or whatever. If you have something connected to the net, it will be vulnerable to Viruses and Spyware, no matter how you want to define it. Period, bottom line. This article was just a warning, thats all. There are lots of people ignorant of whats what, and will put crap on their phone just like they do their computer, then cry when they got problems. Hopefully, most of us here dont do that, right.

Everyone arguing between Apple versus Android for security needs to read this. Very well said.

Apple may have their restrictions on their apps, but that is for security reasons and yes, a little censorship. Android polices itself, but you get exposed to things you may not want to. Take your pick.
