Thread Starter
My friend is looking to buy a GT 430 in order to play WoW on 1680 x 1050 resolution. How good will it perform at above resolution?

He has an Athlon X2. Dont know the speed, but he transferring everything from his HP Pavilion Slimline to a new case.

GT430 GDDR3 should on par with a GT220 GDDR3

I would say that you'll need a GTS450 and Solid State Drive upgrade it has been report that WoW runs smoother if you can run it from a SSD

SSD will only help with the initial loading of the world and the objects in it. Unfortunately it won't increase the overall FPS once everything is loaded.

um, no.
the GT 430 has 96 cores and the GT 220 only got 48 cores. that alone should make quite a difference. not to mention higher clocks across the board for the GT 430.
that above should make the GT 430 2+ times as fast as the GT 220
also the GT 430 supports DX11 while the GT 220 only supports DX 10.1

Yup, thats the only the an SSD does with games, or so I have heard. Plus and SSD would cost atleast another $100, and he isnt looking to spend unless he needs to.
