Cannot get stable 4 Ghz on PII x4 955 BE!

Thread Starter
I've tried a combination of both multipliers and FSB, and only the multiplier but Prime95 keeps causeing a instant reboot or BSOD .. I've bumped the volts as high as 1.475 and still no luck, I was hopeing I wouldn't need to hit 1.5000v but it seems I might need to..

What is the max volts this chip is supposed to take?

i needed 1.52-1.54V @ full load(1.575V set in BIOS) for 4GHz, so bump your Vcore a a little bit

Have you got a C3 or C2? if C2 you are unlikely to hit 4.0ghz. Remember these chips prefer cold as opposed to higher voltage.

My c2 i could only take to 3.922ghz prime stable with 1.51v.

you are running 8gigs of ram which is likely stressing the NB a lot too, also whats your NB set at? get it up to 2.3, 2.6ghz
