Forget Sandy Bridge.. - Page 14

16 pages of hate.

Congrats on the new build OP. Enjoy it. Ignore these people talking you down.

It is true you could have waited a month and prices would have dropped, or you could have gotten SB, but if you have the money now, and the parts will fill your needs with excess, who cares? Enjoy man.

Oh yeah. And take a look at all the haters sig rigs btw. The parts you ordered beats almost all of theirs. Jealousy in the air much?

I mean, its a nice build, but just like everyone else said...you should've waited the extra week. You could've built a system with a better performing chip and a much more future-proof socket for pretty much the same price. 1366 is at the end of its life.

Prices would have been cheaper but to say that 1366 is at the end of its' life is just wrong. That system will out perform most if not all SB builds for years to come.

I'm willing to bet the OP's build will be more cost effective.

It already is, seeing that it is going to be the same obsolete Core i3/5/7 stuff. It's like getting all excited about some .01GHz increase that Intel is addicted to. And nothing thrilling about some video "solution" that scrimes all of the memory away from applications, because they are too cheap to include the 256kB or 512kB of memory to make the system usable.

Nice build OP!
I'm saving up for Ivy, and skipping SB.

THIS...

AND...

SandyBridge is NOT a replacement for 1366.

People should really read up on the subjects before posting information about them...
