FAIL THREAD OF THE YEAR!

Hope this is sarcasm.

First, congrats on the new rig.
Second, congrats on probably one of the most controversial threads. biggrin.gif

Third, I always love when people say the new chip is going to do 5Ghz on air. Happened when 1366 was about to be released, then when 1156 got released and now with 1155. Seriously, until retail samples start hitting the streets and people consistently hit 5Ghz on air it ain't happening. The majority of chips out there are ES chips and they are not always representative of retail chips.

Finally, even if they do 5Ghz and the I7 1366 chip you have "only" does 4.2Ghz, unless you are benching you are not going to notice in games, maybe a little in video editing, but not everyday use.

I am however looking forward too next week when all the lemmings sell their x58 gear for dirt cheap so they can buy SB.

And for those that keep saying SB beats 1366 and you have one, post up or shut up, simple as that. No pics, no proof. biggrin.gif

No, he must be crucified for his choice of an extremely good overkill-for-games processor! Why does he want to play games? He should be looking at double- and triple-digit fps numbers instead!

I swear, some of you people are nothing but arrogant e-peen strokers on here.

By naming the thread "Forget Sandy Bridge"?

People can do what they want with their money. However, I do not think this was a very smart or informed decision for two reasons:

A) We don't know what SB is totally capable of, but will VERY VERY soon.
B) Even if you aren't satisfied with the SB benchmarks when they become more available, there is a good chance 1366 prices and parts will drop a bit.

I think a lot of the current 1366 I7 guys in here have more of a "I don't want to lose my place at the top" complex. You guys think way too much in terms of dualities: good and 'evil' or red team vs blue team or my dad can beat up your dad... It really shows a lot of people's immaturity. The early results have shown that the I5 2500Ks can run at LEAST 4.8ghz on air alone 24/7 stable. At a performance stand point, you can't argue with it. Unless you dislike math and logic and are just that hell bent on denying the obvious. We will learn a lot more in the next 7-10 days. A lot of people hating on John Luc for obvious reasons however, he, and a few others on here do actually have a I72600k setup running and have stated it does best the current 1366s in performance. That's why hes taken such a zealous stand.

Okay, I spent a Helluva time reading through this thread. So far I learned this:

DAMN, some people need manners. I'm not nameing anyone. I haven't been on the forum for long, but a thread like this really holds me back from asking questions, 'cause I don't wanna waste my time worrying about getting flamed, and looked down upon. I might not be a pro OC'er, but I'm not stupid. Seriously, people? We should not get down to levels of childishness. No matter your age. Act civil and respect each other.

Now I also learned that whatever you choose - if it's 1366 build or SB your PC will perfom brilliantly, but the REAL upgrade lies from LGA 775 boards and up.

I own a LGA 775 board, and I will upgrade to Sandy Bridge. But if the price is too high, I will not hessitate on 1366.

So, OP - Great build, I envy you.

Really, people making statements of how SB is going to kick 1156 and 1366's ass should be waiting for solid benchmarks.

I'm not flaming anyone. Just pointing out that you can't really proof anything yet.

I want SB, but that I don't think 1156 and 1366 is *****e. They're great!

So, please, before people make more newcomers feel stupid and "afraid" of looking for help, respect each other, and be nice...

Pretty much this thread sums up how bad and wrong OCN is. It is sad that I rarely open a thread to ask for advice because of the reply I often get. OCN use to be a friendly place where people are able share opinion without getting attack.

By the way, OP nice suggestion of the build I might take note that. I am thinking of upgrading to a Nehalem build soon.
Some of the douchebags here need to shut the **** up. The OP bought his system, you should be happy for him. Yeah, he could have waited a few weeks and made his decision then, but that's none of your business.

I love OCN, but some of you guys are pathetic. So what if he won't get a few extra points in some benchmark? The OP will be more than happy playing games on his computer while you nerds will be throwing away your high end rigs for a meaningless Sandy Bridge upgrade. The forum is riddled with people "wasting" their money on raid SSDs and stacks of video cards in SLI, so some of you complainers are much worse than he is.

Seriously folks, chill out.

Some of you all need to take a chill pill. And not so much the people that are hating on the OP, but those who are freaking out about the haters.

OCN is still a great place and it is not "going to hell" or "changing" like everyone is now "realizing".

OCN still has a ton of quality posters and alot of helpful people, but what do you expect will happen when you trash on the next new "latest and greatest" piece of equipment. People will freak out, these 16-25 year olds can't help themselves lol.

its how things have always been, especially with nerds smile.gif
