Forget Sandy Bridge.. - Page 22

Yes, its true. Prices will continue to drop on whatever components you are looking at buying, so don't buy now.... if you wait long enough they'll actually be free. That's how you know it's time to make the purchase.

This man speaks the truth. I waited for years, and eventually, I got a sweet Pentium Pro rig for next to nothing. Now I'm maxing out Minesweeper like nobody's business.

Yeah, nice build.I don't see the point in sandy bridge. I havent heard anything good about it. If its not faster than x58 then whats the point?

The best thing about SB being released is that it will lower 1366 prices. In fact it allready has and all being good, a nice 1366 setup will soon be within my grasp!

Grats on the new rig.
I picked up my i7 for less than 200$ at the ocn marketplace, why wait for newegg to lower prices?

You know, you don't have to mean about it. He don't want to burn holes in his pocket for a good decent computer. Not everyone here in the forms can be like spend massive amount of money for high tech equips.

this thread represents everything i've started hating about ocn. I feel like every single thread i've opened in the last couple months has either had useless/sarcastic comments or just been a flame war... let the man spend his money how he feels, I personally will be going SB, but thats mainly because this PII isn't cutting it anymore and bulldozer is to far off...

Does anyone else find it funny that people supporting SB are criticized as fanboys? People still supporting socket 1366 and turning their heads to the facts should be called the fanboys.

Look at the situation through my eyes. I'm upgrading from an old Pentium 4 system. Sandy Bridge is coming out very soon, and has proven to be faster clock for clock, overclock higher and easier on air, and cheaper than socket 1366 for the same or more performance. Wouldn't I be stupid not to get Sandy Bridge?

My budget is around $1000, I can build a Sandy Bridge machine for that but from what I've seen the only socket 1366's that can match that are the 6 core socket 1366 CPU's which would cost significantly more.

So, for me, Sandy Bridge is a no-brainer. Superior performance for less money. Why wouldn't I do it? I plan on getting one release day.

I agree.

I'm putting two more members in my ignore list today.

OP, feel confident in your choice and don't let the fanbois get to you.
