Everyone keeps saying "I'm waiting for Ivy Bridge". Problem is how does anyone even know how good Ivy Bridge is going to be? Look at Westmere and how it was a TOTAL FLOP because intel didn't properly integrate it into 1366.

Next look at what potentially Ivy Bridge Bring's to the table.

6 and 8 Core CPU's from 130-150w TDP's.

Prices? 300 to start on the 4c/8t processors. 6 cores starting at 999.99, 8 cores starting a 1499.99

Memory? 4GB Of Quad channel DDR3 starting at around 150 bucks....

Wow.. Think of all the amazing **** you can do with a 1400 dollar 8 core processor that you can't do with SB and 1155.

Yeah def going to wait for Ivy Bridge....

Stop hating on the OP. So what, he bought what he bought, it's over. It's no better than some of you guys throwing away your 4Ghz+ i7's to buy SB or spending 2 grand alone on 4 graphics cards for SLI. If I was the OP I would have waited a few weeks for Sandy Bridge, but seriously, since when did everyone here become so money-conscious all of a sudden?? Go back to your Bi yearly QuadFire upgrades folks, nothing to see here.

although a lot of ppl are going to that, that isn't what the OP did, so... still might have been worth it to wait, especially if prices drop a bit on 1366 stuff after SB launch

EDIT: and, as black mentioned, lol at all of you who already have OC's listed for their SB processors

Congrats on the upgrade OP. Going from your sig build to the new one will be great. There is not a lot an i7 and gtx570 can't do well.

Maybe prices would be cheaper; I bet you can score a good deal on used i7 systems when sandy bridge drops. I would say that prices for new components will not drop a lot when SB out performs the i7... just look at the GTX480 prices still holding at 400-500$.

Wow this is really ridiculous, this is whats wrong with ocn these days, congrats op on the new rig, forget these fools. your system will hold its own. And your right, forget about SB. Its not even an upgrade platform imo, especially for those that have 1366 and 1156. Well its an upgrade for 775 ect. All the people making fun are just hating imo. Also Jean-luc shut the bleep up. Your the stupid one going from a 1366 to 1155. You have a big mouth for a no body on ocn. Why dont you join the forum wars and see who has the better rig mate. Ill wipe the floor out of you. People like you give this forum a bad name, just my two cents.

I love checking your sig in threads cause it's always something new. First it was just the i7 2600k and the motherboard which is fine because you say your sig rig is coming when SB releases. But saying that you have an overclocked processor that isn't even for sale? Get real.
And will he hit 4.8 stable at that voltage? I think not..
