ps symbol spins but i dont think theres a card reader (honestly never checked)
according to some PS3 charts its a 40gb (i could have sworen it was a 60gb *shrugs*)

Do you still have the original RCA video cables? Plug those in and do the video reset.

Also, I'll ask this first. Are you willing to lose all your game saves if the reset doesn't work? I could possibly help you but you may lose it all

Just check on the back last 7 digit of serial number CECHxxx, after you post that we will know whats you model.

That's what I was going to suggest. It's basically a hidden trouble shooting menu that a lot of PS3 owners don't know about.

i dont really want to loose all my saves however i can just take out the HDD save it on my comp and then put them back after?

i'll give that ago after work
