help on vista extracting

Thread Starter
hi there i only had this problem on vista thats why i posted it here, actually i dunno where to post my problem, so sorry if i was wrong posting it here..

im having problem extracting files in other locations, all of them even small files like cpuz or orthos on program files, i thought i just need to change the file name to a short one like a, 1, but still does not work, but when i do "extract here" which is in downloads folder it do extract, thats why i know that my file is not corrupted.. my downloads folder is on users account but an administrator,

my downloads folder is now a mess its like a document folder, even worse because there programs there, hope you can help me.. thanks,

If you can do the 'extract here' function ok, then you could always create a new folder, copy or cut the archive into the folder, then do extract here and that will keep things tidy.

Another alternative is to try another program to unzip it. winRAR is good and very popular, give it a go if you haven't already
