It wasn't that long ago that 4-phase power management was the new thing on AMD boards and they got along just fine without it. See the DFI, ASUS, and Abit nf4 boards. Could the DFI nf4 Expert clock better than the Sli-DR? Depends on the person, but generally no - it would just clock some memory better, and even that was chip dependent and not a guaranteed thing.
