Hard to say which one is best. I used M4A87TD to build a rig for my friend. I have the TA890FXE but not the TA890GXE. Bios is similar so I would pick TA890GXE especially with x6 chip.

oh and which is best for unlocking a x2 to a x4
post #5 of 21
Something with a minimum 8+2 power phase/mosfet heatsinks, that is for sure. You do not want to unlock a Phenom II x2 to an x4 (consuming 125W+) on a motherboard too weak to properly support it. ASUS M4A79XTD EVO is one of the best for the price, just beware of a vDroop that may make it tough to overclock.

I have an Asus M4A79XTD Evo if you want it... It is in good condition and I was able to get my 965 BE up to 4GHz @ 2600MHz CPU/NB

I would get an Open Box M4A87TD EVO I built my freind a rig using the USB 3 verison and it overclocks with ease and runs very cool.

M4A79XTD EVO. Works well with my 1055t OCED and is overall a beast.

M4A79XTD EVO is a great board, note that there is a notorious vDroop which may make it tough to overclock on it.
